Wanted ideas for a IR Switch

Post by moe »

Hello to the group,my cable company has changed boxes again this new Motorola Digital no longer has a switched ac outlet on the back of the unit. With the old one I was able to plug the projection tv and stereo in it.Comcast is no help as they tell me no new boxes of the older type with clock and channel display are in stock. So Iam looking for help on this a IR receiver that I could set to receive the code for a comcast remote that would then latch a relay to a plower strip . I know I could go with a x10 but only would like to have one remote to find in the couch
Thanks for any help you can offer

I follow this kind of stuff and don't know of a low/modest priced solution. Ocelot would be easy but is $150 or so. It exceeds the need in flexibility.

You'd wire one of its output bits to a manual relay or to the input pins of an X10 PowerFlash module.

Or the ocelot can send an X10 command to any X10 module.

They guys on homeseer.com's forum may have more ideas.
