Re: Wireless Remote Control troubleshooting question

When troubleshhoting the 413 MHz transmitter/receiver remote control you have to first verify that the transmitter is operating. You need to examine the modulation input terminal of the Linx transmitting module with an oscilloscope to verify that the pulse train is present. Once so verified, a simple RF detector loop using a 1N914 or similar diode can be constructed. This is the same circuit as used in a common crystal radio. Place the loop close to the transmitter antenna and use the oscilloscope to verify the presence of the detected RF pulses across the load resistor (100k) of the diode.
When it is known that the transmitter is operating, the receiver module output terminal can be examined with the oscilloscope to prove that the receiver does indeed detect the transmitter RF pulses.
