Tread mills have motors and controllers and there are usually at least 1 a month on craigslist for free. The only problem with them is that the controller is set up so you have to turn the speed control to 0 for it to start and there is a 1.5 second delay before the motor starts. I fixed having to 0 the speed control be increasing the size of cap #32 that goes from the inverting input A on the lm358 to ground but for the life of me I cant get rid of the 1.5 second delay. any help would be appreciated. all of the controllers so far have been ATR manufacturing model mc- 45 or 40/50 but they all look the same. I have one set up on my drill press and it works great but the 1.5 second delay is a pain in the posterior.
