Stephen,<p>No doubt they all work to some degree, but as you said they are usually impractical as the gains are so small as to not be of any real use. The law of diminishing returns as it were, and they all take some form of energy created elsewhere to start and run to the point of "exhaustion". The only real use of "free" energy that I know of off the top of my head is the crystal radio.<p>As for the 2 year old... my 6 year old does the Bedini till about 9pm every night! ;) See, he still needs to recharge his batteries!<p>CeaSaR
