None of you got your bets right, you have to think for that.
And the poor kids still look down their nose at your kind of ignorance.

My son has one of those Motorola cam phones. I think its called a "machete" or "bayonet" or "switchblade" model or something. He noticed that you can see right inside some of those remote controls and see the actual circuit boards with his camera. ie: It can see right past the dark red panel on the front of the remote.

Of course, that's off topic now as we appear to be in full swing....

Excuse me for interrupting.

Well, bob, it's not like you are disrupting the thread or anything...

the red plastic is IR transparent - that's why the cam can see inside. I think you meant a Razer, by the way. I've always thought that was a stupid name for a phone - like I'm going to try to shave with it or something.

I've heard of character assassination, but this is more an example of character suicide.

The sheep are flocking away from those poor kids with their cell phones again.

Talk about foot in mouth disease.

Who said the first circuit is fine? That person got it right because the light input is floating. The order of the components doesn't matter. It works the same way with optocouplers, even. Carry on.
