I would like to volunteer to lightly moderate forum

Post by MrAl »

Hello there,

I would like to volunteer to moderate this forum as i see many posts
coming now that have nothing to do with this site. All i would need
would be a light privilege that allows me to delete (or temporarily hide)
subjects that come into existance that have nothing to do with this
nice site.
I visit here at least once per day now and usually much more often
than that.

Thanks, and im sure other members will appreciate this service.

Thus I think this forum needs people who often visit this forum who could Moderate or delete this spams when they see them. So, to the staff of this forum, I offer my service and to gain permission to delete posts that are spam since I visit this forum everyday (even on the weekends). (They probably won't do this, but oh well....)
I was asking for the same thing also before you on this thread: yuck, the invasion of the spammers...

I'll second your motion and volunteer my services if needed. As much trouble as moderators have caused me in the past I see a need here. Not to delete standard posts or rants of regular users but just to purge the SPAM.

To be quite honest...I think that EVERYONE should have the power to blow away spammers. If more than 2or3 people report a posting as spam, the posting should be flushed automatically. I would much rather see th occasional off-topic posting than the outright spam.

Maybe we don't really need a new moderator, maybe we just need a way to report spams to moderators quickly.

On a forum that I administrate for, there is this feature where a user can Report (it appears as a button on every post that a user can click on) a post to moderators, thus having quick removal of unwanted spam.

Somebody is trashing the SPAM, just not as fast as we would like.

some sites i had subscribed to,, you fill out your typical info,,then at the end you have to read some blurred letters or numbers.. maybe this can help keep some of the spammers out if they are bots?? -
just a suggestion.. or if you register, then you have to wait to be approved.. in other words, if you do not fill out required info, and have a valid e-mail,,then you do not get approved...

just some ideas,,

Mr Al would approve ... I was hoping something like this would happen.

Maybe you and several other mild mannered regulars at this forum could do this.

Could a Admin please post a comment here!

I don't have a problem with someone moderating the forums to delete spam. We try to get to it as quick as we can, which means not much will happen on the weekends and evenings. Michael usually checks it several times during the workday, but we could still use some help from a regular user. Those interested need to email me your name and contact information, off the forum, so I know who I'm dealing with.

Thanks JPKNHTP

Im glad to be here to educate the ignorant, the illiterate, and the ones who like to deny what’s really possible or already happening.
[they dont read enough]

And if you reject it, then I know its working well like soo many posts have shown so far.

People ARE thinking before talking now.

And being liked is not part of the deal, after all, most hated their other teachers as well so its just water off my back.
