Stupidity is my favorite past time, then I move on and educate those who want to learn.

Denial is cheap, Posters are even cheaper.

So has any one figured out yet the relationship between a capacitor and timing yet, Or is the easy way out still just prevalent?

It appears to be your life

There is no relationship, per se. Capacity is measured in Farads - time in seconds.

Did you forget to answer, or was your silence your actual answer?

Shiver me timbers sound like your real answer, don’t know but your ignorance is supposed to scare me away????

What are you,...ten?

Diapers, they all smell the same, full of it.

Try again?

Old, very old sh*t indeed.

"time in seconds"......

What part of TIME eludes you, youngster?

Bragging no getters, and morons go hand in hand.
Gee old news by now?

What they don’t know, they must insist on.

[sounds like any politician and their power]

Who has time for the chicken little?

Just do it, find out for your self, [10 cents later] and tell the Phill’s, and the politicians, no Goers and Bosses of the world,... where to go.

Try to dream on your own? [leave the morons and chicken littles behind]

Only way you will ever learn a damn thing? DARE

Remember when THEY say it cant be done, what they are telling you is far more simple.

IT cant be done because THEY are too stupid to even bother to try.

Having been done by others and my self [even on this web] only mocks their false tries, yet their flock gets bigger?

Is this the web of dummies or tiers of even stupider persons?

Make up your own mind, it cant be done if you say it cant be done.....

Here we have convincing evidence that the Goebbels can have both positive and negative values.

Large positive values indicate that a "big lie" is being told and believed by a large number of people. A very small value indicates that no one believes the big lie (except possibly a few planaria).

A negative value would result when a big lie is told and it convinces people that the opposite must be true.

No, sonny. Lucid and literate - and old enough to be your grandfather!

Glad I'm not though - I would hate to have been responsible for begetting a genetic line of stupidity.

Hello there,

Any chance we could get back on subject?

The capacitor in a cap start motor is used with an auxiliary winding
with many turns of wire. The large number of turns means there
will be a large magnetic force even with low current, and the cap
also shifts the phase of the current to help start the motor. Thus,
the extra magnetic force in itself helps to start the motor even under
load, while the phase shift due to the cap also helps start it too.

Some motors leave the cap connected after the motor gets up
to speed, while other motors switch the cap out. Still another
type of motor has two caps, one left in and one switched out after
start up.

The motor can use a centrifugal switch to switch the cap out
once the motor is up to some speed. The switch might trigger
a relay to actually disconnect the cap and associated aux winding.
The motor is then allow to run up to full speed.

Interestingly, i once fixed a fairly large bench grinder that had
a problem with it's cen switch or relay (dont rem which now).
The motor, switched 'on', would sit there and groan and would
not start turning the two grinding wheels at all.
I took it apart and found that the switch or relay was not working
properly, and being that it was rather old and parts were hard to come
by i wired in place of the switch (or relay contacts) a push button switch
and mounted the switch on the front panel of the grinder.
Now, turning on the grinder and pushing the switch, the motor would
start turning and once the speed stabilized i could then release the
switch and it would take off up to full speed. Thus, the grinder
was perfectly usable again.
This of course means that if you have the same problem with
one of your motors you can do the same...the switch has to be
rated for the full 120vac line (or whatever) and must be pressed
to start the motor each time it's turned on, but this really isnt much
of a problem.
LEDs vs Bulbs, LEDs are winning.
