Does anyone have info, schematics, or a web site about lightning detectors?
Thanks

There's some kind of device that used to be used in small aircraft that detected lightning or, at least, the level of electrical energy in the atmosphere. The idea was a sort of poor man's weather radar and would warn against flying into storms. A friend of mine who worked for the FAA had to investigate a crash where the pilot was warned against flying into a cloud bank but he insisted it was safe as his "scope" did not show any lightning. However, turbulence sheared off a wing and the plane crashed. He, wife and several small children all died.
"if it's not another it's one thing."
