Trigger pulses are taken off the vertical amplifier chain at some point. From there they are processed and fed to the horizontal sweep circuit. There are many circuits and switches to go through in the process. You will need to supply a lot more information if you want help on this forum. Eventually you may need a print and unfortuneatly another 'scope. Make sure operator error isnt causing the problem. Does 'scope trigger OK in the automatic mode ?

Leader LBO 516

Hi I am a consumer electronics technician .Iown a LBO-520a Leader [35mhz] dual trace,it's probably similar in design in it's trigger circuits. It might embarass you but check the "source" switch position set for internal. This switch is located above the trigger in bnc jack. Also set the trigger mode switches ,and the trigger select switch for the channel you want to trigger on. If it's transistors [2/channel ] in the vertical channels get the exact transistor number[ substitutes cause more problems]. The same holds true in the schmidt trigger circuits. If you need the schematic free you might be able to get it on Bama/edbris on the internet .Be sure to hold down shift or control for edbris to work for downloading. Good Luck !!!!!
