SAMSUNG TV
Manafucture Jan 1996
Model TXC2715

No video or audio. When you turn it on, the power supply is making a squiling sound and then squiling stop for about few minutes. I dont know what making the squiling noise and I dont know what to look for.

Do you own a boat and some rope?

Great anchor material?

Hi pitch squeal is the HV section, and Im betting a single chip runs the whole show?

Unless its a big screen, It will most likely cost more to repair, than to replace.

No video or audio tells a bigger story.

Its sad to toss anything but thats they way they designed it into the system.

It sounds like your tv has a smps power supply in it. If the horizontal output transistor is shorted, the smps will squeal. As for the reason the transistor shorted, it could be anything from a broken solder connection in the circuitry to the base of the transistor (common on many makes and models) or anywhere else in the horizontal deflection area; or a defective component like a high voltage capacitor or a defective flyback. If you find a broken solder connection, it's worth trying another horizontal output transistor; otherwise it takes an expert to find out what's wrong with the tv.

i strongly agree with "ken1"
i have worked on many sets with that squeeling problem,, 90% of the time it is the horizontal transistor.. and usually you can get away with replacing just that.. if it goes out again soon. then suspect the flyback..especially if it goes out right away..
and also do inspect for bad solider joints..
good luck.
