It is an urban legend that you can get in trouble for getting power from coils.
If you get enough power to light up a light bulb,
you probably would get cancer if you didn't use it.
Think about it. If you live under power lines and people get shocks from your fence,
and you could solve the problem with a light bulb,
but you don't, and someone gets shocked,
who gets sued, you or the electric company?
There is definitely useful and shocking stray current around here.
LED's in peculiar places do not attract the police, but they do seem to scare crooks away.
