Re: Hallicrafters Radio Speaker
Hi, Bob ....
I can't answer your question directly other than to say that you can probably look inside under the chassis and trace two leads back to the output transformer and those would be the ones to use. If there's a headphone jack, possibly one lead is ground, one is live all the time and one cuts out upon headphone insertion. But that may all be baloney, too!
The real answer is that this is officially an antique radio and as such, you question will be answered quickly on the Antique Radios forum operated by Alan Voorhees. Go to http://www.antiqueradios.com/cgi-bin/forums/index.cgi and click on the top category on the forum ("Antique Radio Discussions" I believe it's called) and post your question there. This is a wonderful forum, also driven with Infopop, but an older version. There may be folks on the forum who can supply you with a manual or tell you where to find one. One place to look would be http://bama.sbc.edu/ which is the Boatanchor site that has all kinds of downloadable schematics and manuals for free.
Dean
[ November 30, 2002: Message edited by: Dean Huster ]
