I am developing a 25kHz synchronous io interface.

It works with a external clock signal.

Does anyone know how the data is handled, I mean if the data is read on the positive edge or negative edge of the clock?

Please any advice is welcome!

Only the data sheet from your chip [s] will tell?
Both can be used to count and time.

I suppose it depends on how you design the thing, or what parts you use. Are you using microcontrollers, or CPLD/FPGA?
There is only one correct answer, mine.
