adjustable timed looping circuit switch

I looking for an idea on how to make a main input circuit supply power to a series of (6) sub circuits in a loop. I would like the frequency of the "power switching" loop to be adjustable (digital or analogue means).<p>Does anyone have advice, pointers or suggestions?<p>Thanks in advance.<p>-O

If this is DC power, 6 transistors, a shift register and 555 timer will do it.
