No FM on Amp

Post by Deal »

Old Panasonic Technics SA 200 Amp (1989) everything works (aux and phono input) except FM. No schematic. Have limited electronic expertise. Any Help?

The power supply and audio amp sections must be OK. The problem is in the FM receiver. Did you attach an antenna? If you have a voltmeter, measure the collector, base and emitter voltage of each transistor in the receiver section until you find one that doesn't make sense, then replace that one. If that doesn't fix it, look for a shorted capacitor or open printed circuit run. Check all diodes also. The older radios are fixable, the newer ones have propriatory parts and have to be tossed.
