I would like to get plans for making a thin metal welder to connect the leads of rechargeable batteries. Thanks. paul

I assume you want to spot weld tabs to NI-CAD or NI-MH batteries. I do not have a schematic, but have use them for a number of years and know how they work. They are essentially a low voltage high current AC transformer. The electrods are generally at an angle and pointed at each other. The transformer is energized for a short time(time and current are generally adjustable)The ones I have used use pressure to energized the transformer.

Thanks Ned for the info. What pressure is used to energize the transformer? Do you have any idea of the voltage or current requirements? Thanks Paul
