Home Stereo Line Output Converter / HELP QUICK!

Post by chris_elrod »

Ive got a DVD home theatre system that pushes out about 125 watts per channel. I want to build a line level converter to knock that 100-150 watts down to an RCA pre-amp level to input into, say for example another reciever. I have found a few units for car audio but most of them are 30 watts max on the input! Can anyone point me in the right direction?

you can use the tape in outputs if there are no line out jacks. You could also put a ten k or so pot with ahe out side tabs connected across the speaker outputs and take the signal between the ground and the center tab and start with the middle tab (wiper) closest to ground and turn it up slowly till you get a decent signel.A better solution would be to tap the part of the signal to where it peaks at about 3-5v and use that but that may require a schematic.
good luck
