Closed Caption Encoder

Post by jmgallag » Wed Feb 12, 2003 12:04 pm

Anyone know of CC encoder chips/circuits? NTSC and serial ASCII in, CC'ed NTSC out. All I've found on the net are >$1000 rack mount broadcast encoders.
Thanks

Hi,
This article talks about the BOB2 which seems to do what you want.
http://www.jameco.com/Jameco/images/cc- ... te-112.pdf
The address for just the BOB2 is:
www.decadenet.com/bob2/bob2.html
Hopefully this works out for you. By the way, this is a closed caption encoder, the previous email gives a great explanation about specifications for the CC and how to decode it. If you want to decode, then try the previous reference.

I'm sorry, the link I gave you goes to the Bob2 which is not reccomended for new designs. It has a link to Bob3. The Bob2 may be cheaper though!
