powering an alarm buzzer from the basic stamp 2

i am building a basic house alarm for a college project using the stamp2 microcontroller i can get the stamp to blink an led as the alarm indicator however i would like to add a 12v buzzer and a 24v bulb to the output.i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to power the 12v and 24v components off the one output

I would try a buffer/driver with 'open-collector' outputs, and use them to ground the lamp/buzzer.(wired hot, switch on the ground leg.)
Can't we end all posts with a comical quip?
