Anyone know of a distributer of Ferrox ube cores and bobbins that will sell to the publics without huge minimum orders?

Well, you did get it right on your posts heading, excepting, that the unit is composed as one word. Ferroxcube, a long time and prime manufacturer of ferrite/powdered iron/ceramic products.
RFI beads and cores, ferrite power transformers cores, flyback cores, pot cores.
However, in equipment that I see nowadays, I am equally more apt to see TDK, Siemens, or Arnold as the manufacturer, as well as the Oriental sources.<p>You will find a wealth of tech specs and app notes at their website:

http://www.novamagnetics.com/ <p>With your adjunct reference to bobbins, that would lean towards your interest in pot cores or D cores, possibly for power transformer utilization. If such is the case, have you considered the salvaging of a core unit from a defunct/discarded computer SwMode power supply. Their cores would be designed for the 200-300 watt power levels. I have used many of those units by just filing or Dremel tooling away the cores peripheral captive epoxy bead to get apart and access to the bobbin, and most then unwind successfully for rewind and reuse. Thank you for the help. Yes I am trying to find thier cores for power transformer use, based off of a simple saturable core inverter.

I used to buy small quantities of Ferrozcube products, including cores, bobbins, etc., from Elna Ferrite Labs. I think they've changed their name to Elna Magnetics (http://www.elnamagnetics.com/). Don't know if they still sell small quantites, but they're worth a try.<p>Dave M
