Re: Can lithium batteries be recharged?
Basically.......
No.
Unless for some reason you can't just buy a replacement CR2032 right away.
You can give it a small boost charge, just so you can get your computer up for a day or two till you can get a replacement battery.
You take 3 D, C, AA, or AAA Cells connected together to make 4.5Vdc.
Remove the CR2032 Battery from its holder in the computer.
Touch the +Positive and -Negative poles of the CR2032 Battery, with wires from the 4.5Vdc 3 cell battery pack.
+Positive to +Positive.
-Negative to -Negative.
Do this for about a second, then remove the wire.
{You sometimes need to do this a few times.}
BUT STOP If the CR2032 Battery starts too get WARM!
Let the CR2032 Battery cool down.
Now check the voltage on the CR2032 battery, and if you have a battery tester, use that as well.
You should have a reading of 3VDC, and the battery tester will show that it is in the Fair to Low Good range.
Like I said.
This is only a temporary fix till you can get a replacement battery.

Actually, they are readily available.
Electronic Goldmine has them by the tray load.

Ok, I will not charge it and I will buy a new replacement if necessary. But I think it could work for a long time.

Good idea!
An LM621 is not a CR2032.
CR2032 is not rechargeable.
LM621 is rechargeable, and should be a valid replacement. Careful with Electronic Goldmine, do you need 100 of them?
Cheers,

Re: Can lithium batteries be recharged?
Okay,
The CR2032 Battery type, has different life span versions.
The Alkaline version will last about 2 - 3 years.
Some Lithium versions will last up to 10 years. {But are expensive!}
But most Lithium versions are rated for 5 years.
Well, most computer manufacturer's expect their computer's to be replaced in 2 to 3 years.
But since chips have become scarce.
A lot of people are holding on to they're old computers longer, till they really need to replace it.
