555 timer missing pin

Post by solar3000 »

I saw this 555 timer circuit, but it's missing a pin assignment.
Lets play guess that pin.

I would say https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/tools/ ... e-circuit/ would be pretty much the same circuit, save different values.
Hey, what do I know?

Pin 6 would be the pin for the connection missing a pin number.

Pin 5 is also not shown, but is the junction of internal voltage divider, so does not need to be used in this case.

Schematics like Art can be represented in a range of ways that are graphically quite different. Omission of unused pins on a device is common but can lead to confusion when thinking about construction. One style mimics the physical chip package and arrangement on a PCB and another style is more simplified and seeks to minimize wires drawn, eliminate crossovers and hides unused pins. That's aside from the range of differences the choice of schematc drawing tool imposes.

Not to say there might have been an error so asking around still makes sense
