Has anyone ever hacked an old tomtom for other uses besides gps ?
I know you can use it as a picture viewer and i think, you can also play musik on them MP3's
I'm wondering if it could be turned into a GPS clock...it already gets the time on it from gps.
But how to get it to be a full screen...
I've seen these a lot in yard sales and flea markets.. they can't be updated any more..so they are practically E-waste.

Not a TomTom but I did have fun way back then with a generic Windows CE device (V7 I think) and was able to jail break it and upload tomtom software to it. Its been over a decade, I'd have to take some time to review old folders on how I did it. It should be Windows CE OS and you should be able to load new OS or Apps from the SD card or USB link to a PC for the hidden folder access.

You should be able to get directly to the GPS data in the device but you might need to learn how to compile Win CE apps to do it if one of the apps is not already mostly built. I haven't checked for over a decade but I bet some forums still might have live links

I have a 20G library of maps and SW I can post on m google Cloud drive if you want a starters kit from 2006~2008

Search around
TomTom, IGo, NAV730, GAPI, OziExplorer, V7, TOPO. Most of the old links I used are dead so this library will be a big boost I think.

I have a keygen and unlock program in the set, I forget what it is needed for

it would be useful if i could get the map updated.. the roads here have changed so much..
new intersections, hiways moved, and new ones being built, etc.
all these cement medians.. it's become median city here. and those darn round-a-boots..lol

Any maps I have are over a dozen years old. Most people regard this as obsoleted by smart phones although they are useful when in poor reception areas and off road (though you can download offline maps on your phone too.

It looks like it'll be more trouble than it's worth...I guess this will go into the recycle bin.. the battery is weak as well..
a charge doesn't last long at all..

Exactly your are right. People used to do these tactics for SEO purpose. Google already announced about spamy links updated in August 2021.
