Looks exactly like my lithium cell that fattened itself with no abuse nor fast food. Actually, bought new, charged properly once and left unused almost a year. Now it is a balloon... Viva China !
Am blowing it up with a sewing needle tiny hole, deflate and seal with a drop of glue hoping that diet works.

if you are able to vacuum it down, that might work better..
too discharged or overcharged will damage them,,if you must store them for a long time,, you are best to store them at a cell level voltage..
3.7V or what ever the rated charge is.. like a 3s battery would be 11.1V
6S 22.2v
3.7 v cell is usually charged up to 4.2v, but you don't want that,, you want it about middle volt... they call it a storage charge.

NEVER POKE A CHARGE CELL...they get really angry

40mAh! seems a bit large for such a small capacity (LOL)

just need a 18650 bolster pillow for a set, maybe one with a heating pad inside for maximum effect.

if you search on battery pillow, you will find an image like this one but with Samsung markings (and another with a charge indicator icon), note the background including shadows is exactly the same, someone was having fun with photoshop, I wonder if this was ever real
