Hey guys, a technical question popped up in the comments of the article "Basic Analog Power Supply Design." The author of the article is unavailable so if there's anyone here that could take a look and offer some assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.

Great write up. I was wondering about the current waveform and using an inductor say for higher current applications like welding in the same way the capacitor is used.
Is there a similar formula like how the capacitor is used to filter and smooth the magnetic current signal component?

I'm under the assumption he wants to know how to calculate the coil value to keep the current as steady as possible. I know it's out there and is but a Google away. Anyone want to take a stab?
