Technology..bah Humbug

Post by Lenp »

I have a Vizio 'smart' TV
I watch YouTube
There is one channel (so far) that turns the TV off as soon as it starts!
Yup, power off so you need to turn it back on again.
No, it's not a 'restricted' channel that you have to be registered to watch.
None of the thousands of other videos, causes this to happen.
I am open to any explanantion even way-out ones.

Hmmm.........

Just one channel you say.

I'd see if it is effecting all the videos on that Youtube channel.
If it isn't, then it could be some kind of "ClickJacking" that is embedded into just that video.
Or an illegal redirect to a different website.

Try going to the Youtube channel on your computer, and see what happens.

I've been watching Youtube vid's with my computer.
Using FireFox Version 54 with Noscript Runner, and Ad Blocker Plus.
And I will sometimes come across a vid that has "ClickJacking" embedded into it,
or it tries to redirect, and open up a new web page{Usually some AD, or P o r n site}.

I have been seeing a lot of "Error 502 bad gateway's on some sites, because the site MOD is being sloppy
about making the proxy connections to the upstream server.
