Kevlan Entertainment Systems?

Post by Janitor Tzap »

Has anyone seen these?
Image
This guy shoved this into my truck, and then split.

I reported the guy to the police, and have tried to find out where the system it was manufactured.

The best I can come up with, is that it came from China {somewhere}. :?

After talking to the officer who took my statement, and took the unit as evidence.
He said a few years back, there was some guys were dumping defective Chinese crap around the area.

If nothing turns up on the guy, who dumped this on me, and it isn't stolen goods.
I'll be getting this {Thing} back in 30 days.

Did you bother to Google Kevlan Labs?
There is some info about this brand and some about scams involving them...
If you got it free then there's no risk, regardless of what it is, unless the box if full of bugs or mice

If you had a higher rez photo, you could scan the QR code on the front of the box and see what you get.

you must have got the photo here, 2nd photo says designed in Denmark. Do you know if there are compatibility issues for European standards to ours.

That sure is odd how you got it. Guy didn't seem to be running from the cops, no doubt grey market unsupported.

I'm interested in the guy shoving it in your truck story. Where were you, gas station, store etc. was he on foot? very odd.

In any case, I hope you get to keep it and it works, looks half decent. I look forward to the update in 30 days

Somethings weird. If you didn't pay for it then what's the scam? Be careful if you get it back, could have a bomb inside waiting to blow up when you turn it on.

Yeah,
That's where I got the picture of it.

As to where it happened.

I was at a gas station filling up.
I think he was going to try and get me to fork over a bunch of money.
But the station started to get busy, with people pulling in.
I think he got spooked, and took off leaving me with box.

there was a scam like that going on around here a few years ago,, a guy comes up to ya,, saying he has left overs from installing a surround speaker system in some big complex, and wants to pan off the left over kits ( surround sound speaker kit ) saying it was a 1,500.00 value for only 300.00 or some BS like that..
so you get the items and then later find out it is a very very cheap set of speakers that sound like crap and burn out easily. seems like they were less than 10 watts each.
needless to say a lot of gullible people got taken on it..

Yes, they often say its flea market overstock but its mostly moving counterfeit junk, this looks a bit above the class of cheap speakers and copy watches though. I buy the spooked con man theory but aren't con men supposed to be ballsy?

Are you sure he didn't take something out, while he was putting the 'gift' in?

Nope.
I checked, and nothing is missing from my truck.

I don't think so...
He approached me when the gas station was empty, with only me there.
The cashier inside the store was busy moving stuff.
Thus, she wasn't looking outside.

When I wasn't falling for his line, and was objecting loudly.
Then people showing up at the gas station.

I guess he thought it wasn't worth getting caught, if the other people decided to intervene.
Thus, he split.
