is it possible to use a opto isolator with a zero crossing circuit (triac output) in place of a opto with out the zero crossing circut (triac output)
i have a opto that controls a triac and this controls a small ac motor.
the opto i have is leaky. and all i can find in my junk box is a opto with the zero crossing circuit built in
the leaky opto is a MOC3010 and i have in my junk box several MOC3063's
the motor is a small 28VAC shaded pole unimotor it works a small gearbox for a jukebox.

Re: opto isolator question...
I think you are OK. Zero crossing types are only not permitted in phase control circuits such as light dimmers, etc.
Re: opto isolator question...
Years ago I found about the MOC3010 and it is my go-to isolator for many applications. As long as it's specs are respected it should work.
