Some transistor identification help needed.

I have an older dehydrator that needs a new transistor. The existing transistor does not have a model number on it at all. I even looked with a magnifying glass. The transistor turns on/off the small heating element and is triggered by a "CA 3079" Linear circuit 0V switch 50/60 HZ Thyristor control chip.

I'm not good at guessing so any advice will be greatly appreciated as to which transistor to replace it with.

I found it. It is actually an internally triggered Triac "NTE 5645" or a "Q2010L4".

I actually found someone with an identical dehydrator and theirs had the number on it.

cool deal.. i was going to suggest it is either a SCR or a Triac.

I made a mistake when trying to explain the circuit. I should have called it a Transistor shaped device. After considering that the entire dehydrator operated on 120vac that it obviously had to be a Triac.
