Can anyone suggest a AC Detector I would like to know if a line is energized without using a meter and no contact with the conductor. A tone or light Detector would be fine. looking to check 120 volt lines.
Thanks

AC Detector
Re: AC Detector
This should be easy to find in just about any hardware store or on ebay search for non contact AC voltage detector. In stores they should be stocked near the stud finders or in the electrical tools section. the cost is generally less than $20

Re: AC Detector
Yep. In the electrical tool section at Home Depot. And they have some built into the handle of screwdrivers, too, which can be a nice safety thing -- but then the dedicated versions have insulated probes.
