the item is a "kole" car audio amp , model - xp2-2000
i am trying to find out what amp fuses this thing uses. it takes 3 of them..
and i have no clue whats what.
i searched all over the net tonight, and had no luck yet.
there is no indications of what the amperages are.
any help ??
need help to find a manual or info.
Re: need help to find a manual or info.
Seems this is a 2007 model made by either Kole Audio or Power Acoustik; part of their Nitric series.
If you go to this Kole Audio page you'll find a link for the manual of their latest Phanatik Series amps.
It shows the PH2-2000, with the same 370W per channel rating, as having three 25A fuses.

Re: need help to find a manual or info.
yes it is a KOLE Amp.
i was on their website, but saw no info on this AMP, but thanks for the fuse info.. i was guessing 25AMP.
anyway the original problem was 3 of the filtering caps were popped. ( over voltage ? )
anyway i replaced the caps, checked all the FETs they were ok,, the finals were all ok. so i go to fire it up... nothing dead the SMPS is dead, or something is shorted and loading it down, i am unable to find anything as of yet. i now have to search for a schematic.. i was going to contact KOLE
but they have no email or phone number to contact them.
any help on this or a schematic ?
thanks...

Re: need help to find a manual or info.
Sorry I won't be as much help with docs or troubleshooting. I'm not as well versed in SMPSs as I'd like to be. Possibly any
somewhat similar schematic you can find will be helpful. If the SMPS is dead, I'd check the switching transistors. The unit
may have gotten connected wrong and blown the controller IC. Following the 12VDC input may lead to the bad component.
Kole Audio may be a dba for Power Acoustik; I wasn't sure from what I found exactly what the relation was.

Re: need help to find a manual or info.
well i checked all resistors etc around the IC that controls the FETs
i even changed the IC, ( had some from another amp i worked on, out of my scrap pile)
i even changed the opto. i still cannot get it to function, and i am at a loss til i find a schematic.
Grrrr.

woohoo, finally got it going. problem seemed to be in the turn on circuit.. dove into a cluster of transistors, found 2 shorted between base and emitter.
replaced them, and it works..
replaced them, and it works..
