Transistor Replacement

Post by asm_2750 »

Does any one know where I could find a replacement to a 2SC730 power transistor, I noticed the 2005 april issue with the pulse generator uses one, but its really hard to find. Anyone know a good replacement?

Perhaps a 2N3553 or 2N4401 would do the trick if you want US based transistors or something like a BF240 or BF422 if Europe based.

The 2SC730 in that output stage was a bit of overkill, unless you are driving very high current loads. 99% of the time, the lowly 2N3904 will work just fine. If your dead set on the 2SC730, these were handled by ECG which I believe was bought out by NTE.

Thank you, 2N3553 will be a good replacement. They are also rare, but NTE has a replacement that is exactly the same.
