visiting family here in germany...and of course they have a task for me that i cannot understand..
the satalite systems are not of my understanding well..
the sat goes to a main station in the house,,,then it feeds the signal to modems that send to the local tv wirelessly.
the system is a PLM40 ( the wireless modem ) it has only power to it, and a IRsensor with 2 buttons for changing the channel manually..
i cannot find a english manual or any info on how to set this thing up for the tv..
anyone have any idea on this thing ?? or tips on setting up euro sat ?
thanks...
Grundig satalite powerline modem question
Re: Grundig satalite powerline modem question
Dac...go to "manualparadise.com". They say they have the English or German manual for this model. Once you get to the Grundig page just keep going down the list. You will notice that they are in alphabetical order. The website is self explanatory(even I was able to understand it.)
Good luck & take care,

Re: Grundig satalite powerline modem question
thanks..
found out the problem is a bad modem..
also NLA, europe is gonna be going from analog satalites to digital soon..
i cannot understand tho. why the dishes are pointed so low, looks like 15degrees. almost even with horizon.. are the antennas real satalite or are they actually pointing towards the local
transmitter powers ? because i do not uinderstand why they would have satalites so low to the horizon..

Re: Grundig satalite powerline modem question
You didn't say what city. If it's Berlin then it is up there at ~52.5 degrees N. The equatorial plane is 90-52.5 is 37.5 degrees. Subtract 6 degrees for declination (due to Berlin being not on, but north of the equatorial plane, and sats geostationary orbit distance of 22,300 miles over the equator) and sats should be close to 31.5 degrees above the horizon. That is, the sats that are the closest to being "overhead" and due south. Those sats parked way east or way west of Berlin are lower down, closer to the south-east and south-west horizon.dacflyer wrote:.........i do not uinderstand why they would have satalites so low to the horizon..
