Post by new guy »

I would like to learn about microchips. I don't know anything about them now. So I was wondering if anyone can recomend some GOOD BEGINNER, BASIC books about microchips.

What are you hoping to learn? Theory, construction techniques, uses, varieties, etc...?

Do you mean the brand name Microchip microprocessors?
Microprocessors and/or programming in general?
Integrated circuits in general?
Logic theory? (Basic stuff like AND, OR, INVERT functions)
Analog AND digital ICs?

I'm just wondering.....Do you have basic electronics knowledge? That would be a prerequisite to understanding ICs.
Do you have a project in mind?

[edit] I see by your past postings that you are interested in electrical work for machinery. Are you somehow interested in microprocessor controlled tools and chargers?
