Inductance at different frequencies ?

Post by Externet »

Hi.
This caught my attention:

I understand the impedance depending on frequency; but how does the inductance ? What am I missing ?

Could it be the cores permeability at widely different frequencys that affect coils inductance. BTW, what does O/C stand for?

Another stupid acronym or lazy typist, or saving ink and pixels or assumption that everyone should know...

Leaving it to guess, as many others.... measured in Open Circuit ?

If there is a DC current flowing through the core, the inductance will change with the DC bias. The closer the core is to stauration, the lower the inductance. Some old style (as in tube era) power supply inductors were actually rated for a range of inductance which was dependant on current.
