On line weather telemetry, pyranometer designs

Post by mthornton »

I work at a ski-area in BC, and have, over time, built up a weather telemetry setup that is viewable on-line. This is used primarily for our avalanche control technicians, snowmaking operation, and marketing folks. Here are a few examples. You'll figure it out.

I love this stuff, and look forward to adding new instruments & upgrade the front-end as time goes by. I have my ear to the ground regarding new affordable stuff (am pretty low-budget)

I would love to build a list of other folks on-line real-time weather telemetry systems. Any out there? Love to get some new ideas.

+ I am looking for a good cheap pyranometer instrument design, with the intent of locating multiple units in various aspects. The goal is measuring accumulated solar irradiation of the snow-pack in the avi release zones. Any good affordable home-brew designs out there?
