Is RadioShack so confused by electronic parts they don't know which end is up?

Seems that way.

My two most recent RadioShack experiences:

Q: Can I test this LED before I leave so I know it will work?
A: No, you need like special tools to do that.
Thought: Or just the coin cell battery that I have in my Keyfob.

Q: Where can I find an iPhone A/V cable?
A: We don't carry those.
Response: Funny cause I just checked online and this store not only carries them but has them in stock. No don't get up, I can help myself (like always). Sure enough they had a peg hook full of them and they were of course reasonably priced.

As to Setec's last post-
When I go into RS (rarely), I always locate the part I want on the peg board first. I then go to the counter and tell the clerk I need this part description. Then I just stand back and let the fun begin!

I gave up on RS about 30 years ago. That was when I discovered industrial electronics suppliers that sold good quality parts.

Notice they even photo shop'd in a reflection of the tab on the upside down part. So it appears not to be an accidental rotation of the photo but an intentional view.

To be fair, all the ones I've used worked in all positions.

Look up the datasheet on the illustrated regulator and you'll find that what will get you is that unlike a regular 7805 where input is on the left and output is on the right with the center terminal as ground, this one has the input on the RIGHT and the output on the LEFT! Talk about confusion!

You do know that there are both positive and negative
versions of this family? The positive and negative
versions have different pinouts.
Positive Regulator
Negative Regulator

Hmm. I always thought the upside down ones were negative regulators.
Maybe its because the RS part is a ML7805, and the link is for a LM7805?

Hi,

I am surprised that they didnt show a side view

What you guys dont realize however is that that pic was taken and
posted by one of the best photographers/illustrators Radio Shack
has on it's staff. Here's the way the other RS employees would
do it:

I thought that was an isolated incident, I was wrong. http://www.radioshack.com/family/index. ... Id=2032279
They clearly have no Idea what they're working with. Who did they hire? It seems anyone could guess these are the acceptable photos and to scrap the rest:

If I went in and told an employee the fuse I just bought has a short (Thanks Lenp) what do you think the response would be?
Sorry no refunds? What's your zip? Have you purchased batteries from us before? Blank stare while scratching head?
