PLC programming

can anyone help me with any sources for learning how to program PLC'C that are used to run machinery and also how to diagnose programs on an already existing machine. Books, Websites, Inexpensive courses?

a quick google of "PLC primer" turned up pages of links, all of which look exactly what you want.

One that I'm familiar with and would recommend is
www.thelearningpit.com . They have a very good simulator for Allen-Bradley PLCs and you can download a demo. The full function copy is only about $30. We use it to teach PLCs at my school.
