getting started in basic stamps

Post by engbryan »

Just new to learning about basic stamps, I would like any info. on selecting a starter kit for a project that I have in mind, of sending serial data out of the device ( stamp ) to control some old text L.E.D. signs, that accept text and control characters at 9600 8n1 rate. If I could press/ activate one of the i/o inputs to give a certain message out to the signs. I took basic programming two decades ago in high school, and have not really used it since. Thanks any info. would be of great help.

LA Bryan:
I built a programmable LCD system with the Scott Edwards Electronics Serial Backpack Interface for Alphanumeric LCD's.
The Backpack is extremely easy to program and use. Here is the link LCD Backpack..
The Backpack interfaces very nicely with the BS2 and comes with all of the sample code you need.
Good luck!
