Web frameworks

I've been looking at node.js as a new web platform. Was wondering whether one of you wanted to weigh in on it. Apparently, it's part of the software stack gmail runs on. Has a clever event-driven approach to servicing calls.

For some years now, Wicket has been my go-to platform for apps delivered via a browser. It's pretty slick and intuitive. Am looking forward to trying out some of the newer v6 features. But what node.js offers out-of-the-box looks pretty compelling. Thoughts?

Anyone done any web programming in general? Got a favorite framework or methodology to share?

Ive used node.js before with my electronics projects and Ive honestly found it to be a bit of a pain at first. I usually use python with it's web based stuff and javascript for my stuff most of the time, then you dont need to have alot of things installed and dont have to mess with a bunch of files other than the server script, and the webpage.
