Hi,

These last hackers/spammers have been a real pain. They keep coming back and putting more spam even the same day. i wish i had the power to ban them, even for a couple days would be good enough i bet. I have to keep deleting the same posts day after day.
Notified Mike about this problem again so i hope he gets back here soon to get rid of the offending 'members'.

I agree with you MrAl, they are a real pain. I wish I had the power to help "clean up" after them.
I have offered my services in that respect several times (to admin), but it seems they trust only
a few. (A darned good few, though.)

Hopefully, the increase of "Idiots" is just due to the holiday season. I have had to clear off 30-40 spams a day in this month of December. Much more than usual. It seems like they are getting desperate for the Xmas season.

Has Nuts and Volts just given up? The same spammer has been posting for over a week. He's not the only one spamming either. Half of the most recent posts have at least one spam post within the thread somewhere. One spammer even managed to get a response from me and Michael Kaudze which baffles me. Had the spam links in the poster's signature been there I would not have replied. I don't understand the spam issue. I manage a forum running phpBB and have yet to have one single spam post. I don't require email activation or moderation either, it has no moderators. N&V should check their phpBB settings.

Yeah we've been hit by spammers that keep coming back, and they seem to be working in groups now rather than alone.
When you see it this bad the best thing to do it notify Mike as he's the only one that can ban them. If i could ban them i would have two weeks ago and this would not be happening. You'll have to ask Mike about that though.

Thank you Michael, for taking care of the recent spammers. I am relieved that our PM's got through.

This morning i deleted 33 pages (yes 33 pages) of spams, all repeat from the same spammer.

When I PM'd Michael, that "pita" spammer was up to 23 pages.
The other 2 had only put up about 10 or so each. Thanks MrAl.
That's a lot of deleting.

My first visit to the "Programming" forum.
Mainly because my programming abilities stop around the cordless phone level. (Analog guy)

Anywho, just like to say kudoes for all your efforts to purge the spam from our ranks!
