print size on monitor and printer

Post by spindown »

I have trouble with my vision and am looking for a way of increasing
text size on the monitor but without also increasing text size on the
printer. I can hold the printed page closer and read it but can't do the
same with the monitor. Thanks Paul

Thats easy.

Go to the start menu/programs/accessories/accessability and start the "Magnifier" program. This puts a magnified view of the area around your mouse cursor at the top 1/3 of the screen. If you have dual monitors, I think you can put the mag voew on one monitor.

ALternatively, right click on the desktop (any empty area) and select Properties from the menu. Go to the Settings tab abd select the Advanced Button. Next select the General tab from the resulting window where you should be able to change the dpi setting for the display font. I don't think this effects most printouts but it may.

Similarly there are also font size controls on the appearance tab of the desktop properties.

One of these should suit your need.
