VGA

Post by zangeena »

Can I connect my DVD player with a component output to a VGA input for my Projector? I have a Yamaha DVD player with S-Video and Component Video outputs. My Sony Projector has both an S-Video and a VGA input. Naturally, I can put S-Video out on my DVD player to S-Video in to my projector. Can I put Component Video outputs from my DVD player to the VGA input on my Projector. If so, would I need just a cable with an adaptor or some kind of box to convert?

type "component video to VGA" into the ebay search box. You will find that from VGA to Component there are cable only adapters while in the other direction Component to VGA there are boxes but they are not too expensive. I did see some cables that said they were bidirectional. I don't have time to sort it all out but there's the tip of the ice berg for you. Read the descriptions carefully before purchasing.
