Code 22 on my CD writer, how to correct?

I get a code 22 error on my cd writer when I go to "control panel">"systems">"device manager".
I performed the following instructions:
Code 22
This device is disabled. (Code 22)
Recommended resolution

Enable the device by using Device Manager.

In Device Manager, click Action, and then click Enable Device. This starts the Enable Device wizard. Follow the instructions.
This does not work, I get the information that it was not possible to enable the device. The proper driver seems to be available. It may be (I can not recall why I have this impression) that I've exceeded the number of IRQ's. If so, how might I resolve this? Can I disable some other device to free on up or ????. Thanks, Rodney

I think I solved my own problem. I uninstalled the device and then reinstalled it. Seems to be okay now although I have not yet tried to use it. sorry for the time I caused any readers. rodney
