Have an ISO file, now what do I do?

Post by Rodney »

I have an ISO file that I downloaded but do not know how to convert it to a file that will run on Windows XP. How do you burn it to a CD to make it a runnable file please?

Hi,

You look in your burn software to find something that tells you how to burn an ISO to disk.
Your burn software has to support this feature, but if it doesnt you can probably find
a free program to download that will burn an ISO. Just do a search if you have to.

You need to either purchase Roxio or Nero and burn a disk from an image file
or Download a trial copy of either WinRAR or ISOBuster to extract the files
from the ISO image.

HERE are a few free options that are not trial versions. I use Nero myself but some of the free stuff out there is pretty good and should work fine for you.

Thanks, I downloaded "Free Easy Burner" and it worked like a charm. Looks like this is a pretty good burner and best of all, no charge. Problem solved. Rodney

I was going to suggest ImgBurn, but Setec beat me to it.

I've used it for 3 years. No problems to date.
