Ace laptop sound card

I am thinking of getting a acer as4730-4516 laptop and I need to know if the sound card has stereo input for SDR (software defined radio). I cant talk to anyone at acer unless I have a acer computer. Does anyone know if this model has stereo input.

Hi Dan,

I looked up your acer as4730-4516 at the Acer website. Under the Audio section it states:

Audio:

Two integrated stereo speakers
Integrated microphone
Headphones/speaker/line-out, microphone and line-in ports
Microsoft® DirectSound® compatibility

If what you are looking for is line-in, then yes,it does (stereo has been the standard for line-in for a loooong time).

The only thing you might want to invest in is an external set of speakers. I fuzzed out the speakers on my
Acer 5002WLMI. Got a great deal after Christmas on a portable set At Walmart in the "Xmas" impulse section - at
that point it was Clearance. $3.00 US. They were touted as MP3 Powered Speakers.

Of course with SDR you are probably doing that anyway.
