Seeking balljoint servo connector

Post by alex1138 »

I'm using a standard servo & pushrod to move an armature....because of the irregular way it moves, I need a servo-balljoint connector between the pushrod and the armature (which I have), and another balljoint connector between the servo and the pushrod. Currently, i just have a SWIVEL joint between the servo and the pushrod. Does anyone know where I could get a BALLJOINT for the servo-to-pushrod connection?

Thanks

Tower hobbies? But you probably checked them already.

Can't you screw a balljoint into the hole on the servo horn? i.e., drill the hole out and pass a screw through the bottom and screw the ball joint connector into that.

Off topic question-
Does 1138 have some non-obvious significance?

"THX-1138, you're not at your post"

THX-1138 was the title of George Lucas's student film back in 1971 or so. Since then the code has appeared in all of his movies except (I think) American Graffiti. And, of course, the letters THX are significant to home theater geeks.

I need to get out more!

George Lucas apparently named the film after his San Francisco telephone number, 849 1138 - the letters THX correspond to letters found on the buttons 8, 4 and 9.

According to Tomlinson Holman, the inventor of the THX system, the name of the technology was deliberately chosen because it contained both a reference to his name, and to Lucas's early film, THX 1138. The original name was "Tom Holman's Crossover" (crossover sometimes referred to by the letter X), but was later changed to mean "Tomlinson Holman's eXperiment".
