I need PWM control for a motor, (up to 36V, 65A) continuous use. I want to use an analog signal for control, very basic with no ramp ups, down, direction control, etc. -- I planned on building it myself, however I now understand there are commercial ones available at very reasonable pricing. Looking for ideas and suggestions. Thanks!
hummm.. why dont you get your self a little MSP430 (by choice) that has a ADC built into it. On the MSP430 you will also have a port that you can output a PWM... now that PWM will only be 3.3V with little current.. that doesn't matter. You can get yourself some MOSFETS to drive the motor.. You can build your own PWM control using a 555 chip that inputs a voltage level and outputs a modulated pulse dependent upon the input voltage. Look in the manufacturer's fact sheets for this application or just Goggle around.
