R/C Transmitter Blackbox w/ Computer Interface

Post by Mekimosabe »

Anyone know of a product comprised of a simple R/C transmitter with only a computer interface, such as usb or serial port? I would like to get a laptop to control commercially available receiver/servos used by r/c hobbiests. Multichannel is desirable. I would like to keep the cost at least as low as the hand held units with joysticks/switches. I would consider wiring-up a hand held unit if plans are available.

Are you wanting to run servos? You do not need a radio for that. If you want to run servos from your laptop then you can simply connect your printer port to my SMNode ($21.44) which then runs the servo. If you are interested I can work with you on this.

Don't know if this will help or even apply but look into model train equipment. Railking and Lionel both have extensive lines of model train control equipment. Not sure about the wireless part though.
HTH
Paul Hurm
