Re: Replaced a virus filled HD with a new one
Blue screens are caused by bad drivers or bad hardware. Maybe it's actually bad hardware for once(normally not the reason I encounter a BSoD). Has the Netbook recently been dropped, wet, too hot? It may have been riddled with viruses AND on the brink of failing. I guess the only real way to know is ...

Re: Replaced a virus filled HD with a new one
sobeit most computers these days come with the restore software as part of the hard drive. This software is typically contained within a hidden drive partition. By swapping the drive you lose that ability without purchasing restore media from the OEM. As it stands I see a few issues, one you don't/d...

Re: Recomendations for a new Flat Screen Television?
One feature I saw disappearing was picture in picture. It would be nice if it were coming back. I often like to look for a new program while holding onto the previous one or maybe put a security cam for the front door onscreen without moving away from the program. Can't do that on any LCD I've seen...

Re: Call Blocking revisited
I've gotten as far as ring detection, CID receiving and decoding, block list and EEPROM storage. I haven't done more than layout everything else as I've not made final decisions on features. If I decide to play an outgoing message I would need to incorporate a bigger EEPROM and DAC for playing that ...

haklesup I currently have VOIP service through my cable provider, along with internet services. Some of the pertinent features they offer are: -Anonymous Call Rejection -Call Screening -Selective Call Acceptance I'm leaning toward detecting an off-hook condition over the other options. It seems the ...

Re: Getting isolated 12V from 12V
I would find it easier to help if you could tell me what wires you have available at the dome light and the model number from your flip-down player. From what I understand you have a 12V source going to the original dome light. An on switch that grounds the other side of the dome light and an auto s...

Re: Call Blocking revisited
I'll do some planning later today and let you know where I get but I've wanted a similar product for a long time. I just never got around to making it. My plan was to use a PIC to manage a block list and parse incoming caller id data. If the caller passes test one, I'd allow the house phones to conn...

Re: Recomendations for a new Flat Screen Television?
Definitely go with an LED backlit model, forgetting the obvious reliability gain the contrast ratio attainable is remarkable. My family spent quite some time searching down the best flat panel to go with and after looking at plenty of them we went with an field LED lit locally dimmable LCD by Samsun...

Re: PICIT2 install problems
You do need the frameworks. Once installed visit the Windows update site, there are plenty of updates for the .Net framework, versions one, two and three. The PicKit software will not run without it. You have the option of downloading the software with or without it included because a lot of apps no...

Re: HPS & MH igniter question.
From what I read the MH bulbs don't use an igniter, just the ballast. The combo ballasts switch the igniter out of circuit when using a MH lamp.

Re: HPS & MH igniter question.
From a very quick Google skim the ballasts are compatible with one exception. The exception is the igniter used in HPS fixtures. I also read that ballasts exist that can be used with both light types.

To delete the My Music and My Pictures folders: "1) start>run, type in: regsvr32 /u mydocs.dll and then delete them." To hide the folders: "2) right click folder, select properties, put a tick in the hidden box, apply,ok, " Source: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/244643-45-perma...
